Oriental Hornbeam / Carpinus orientalis
"Big One"
A big and wild yamadori that breaks pretty much all the rules. Several twisted trunks, multiple apices and branches going in all directions. Not a classic bonsai material — and that's exactly what we like about it.
Collected in 2024. The first rough styling was done in summer 2026, including some initial deadwood work. The idea is to keep much of its wild structure and develop it as an unusual multi-apex bonsai.
The tree is well rooted and ready for further development and/or repotting.
